This year for New Years Eve, we took a road trip to Cincinnati and met Mike & Shannon to ring in the New Year!
After checking into our really nice hotel......
.....we went to one of the most awesome places on the face of the earth - IKEA!!!
Here, our funny husbands try out some of the merchandise - Mike tested out one of the beds (too short for him!), while Brandon took charge in an office set up.
We had fun! We didn't buy a lot (according to Brandon, I only have 9 square inches left in our place to put anything), but we had a great time - even ate in the cafeteria there for lunch (Swedish meatballs = Yummy in my Tummy).
Love this sign there (not actual size).
After IKEA, we all got bundled up to spend most of the evening outside. We went to downtown Cinncinati's "Fountain Square" area.
They had set up a temporary Ice Skating Rink!
Skating was so much fun!
After Ice Skating, we put our names in at a nearby restaurant, but had to wait about an hour & a half before being seated, so we walked around, enjoying the surrounding festivities, Christmas lights & watching a couple wedding receptions through the windows at nearby hotels.
We also saw this sweet ride - although, the color is a little "Green Goblin" for my taste.
After strolling around and trying to keep warm outside, it was finally our turn to eat. We ate at Rock Bottom.
One big reason I wanted to eat here is because of these:
Ball-park style pretzel appetizers with queso dip. They are SO GOOD!
After dinner, we found a spot near the big Christmas tree to count down the New Year and watch the fire works that they were setting off downtown.
Happy New Year!!!
