Fall-Winter Reading
I have high hopes for reading all these books in the next few months. I'll try to report on each of them as I finish. I'm excited to read them, but making time is the hard part. Wish me luck!

September Retreat
Even though I failed to make sure I got into one of the pictures, here's some of the ladies that I went to a retreat with a few weekends ago. Some scrapbooked, some quilted and some (like me) just sat and talked all weekend! :)
Constitution Square Festival
Shannon and I made a short visit to my grandparents this past weekend in Danville. While we were there, we went to the Constitution Square Festival. This is the same festival we attended last year....it's become an annual thing.
Goodbye Little Cavalier!
I am no longer the owner of a Chevy Cavalier, as of last week I now drive a truck! I was going to trade in my car and my cousin Jamie heard about it. He came up with a plan in which we would both come out happy in the end. He wanted something with better gas mileage and I just wanted something with a good trade-in value, so he took my car and I took his truck. I'll be trading the truck in eventually, for something that I really want, but for now I'm having fun being a tom boy!

The 30 - Topic #7
Baseball and the Number 30
Fun Facts about my favorite sport and the number of the age I will be turning all too soon.
If you add the number of teams in the American League to the number of teams in the National League, there are exactly 30 Major League Baseball Teams
The Number 30 Uniform has been retired by the following teams for the following players:
Giants - Orlando Cepeda
Angels - Nolan Ryan
Expos - Tim Raines
30 years ago in 1979 (the glorious year I was born), the following baseball happenings occurred:
-Willie Mays, Warren Giles, and Hack Wilson were inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame
-Gary Roenicke hits into Orioles 13th triple play
-Phillies beat Cubs, 23-22 (an almost unheard of score for a baseball game!), on 50 hits with 11 home runs (11 HR's in one game??)
-Phillies wear burgundy uniforms for 1st and last time
-Carl Yastrzemski hits his 1,000th extra base hits, hits his 400th HR & is 15th to get 3,000 hits
-Rickey Henderson debuts for Oakland and steals his 1st base
-"Disco Demolition Night" at Comiskey Park, causes fans to go wild and causes White Sox to forfeit 2nd game of a doubleheader to Tigers
-KC's Willie Wilson hits 5th inside-the-park HR (most since 1925).
-St. Louis legend Lou Brock steals 938th and final base of his career
-Pete Rose reaches 200 hits in a season for 10th time
-Billy Martin, manager for the Yankees, is involved in a barroom altercation in which he punches a Minnesota Marshmallow Salesman, Joseph Cooper. Cooper requires 15 stitches, Billy Martin is fired as Yankee manager (for the 2nd time).
